Pony, a company offering high-end electric bikes and scooters on a self-service basis \u2013 which can be hired directly via a smartphone \u2013 has announced that it has raised nearly 6 million euros with the aim of providing smart and innovative solutions to avoid the mistakes made by certain cities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Founded in 2017 in Oxford by a French couple (Clara Vaisse and Paul-Adrien Cormerais), this start-up quickly relocated to France (specifically to Angers), and is now the only French company to offer free-floating electric bikes and scooters (free-floating is a form of shared mobility that involves making a vehicle available to the public without it being tied to a station or docking point).<\/p>\n

For its second round of funding, and as part of the development of its solution, the Angers-based company (advised by Joffe & Associ\u00e9s) has announced that it has raised nearly \u20ac6 million. The company has raised \u20ac4.5 million from new investors: \u00c9pop\u00e9e Gestion and Aquiti Gestion. They are joined by their long-standing investors, Demeter Investment Managers, who came on board during the first seed funding round of \u20ac2.2 million in 2019. The total amount now stands at \u20ac6 million, comprising debt raised from a pool of banking partners comprising BNP Paribas, CIC and BPRI.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Paul-Adrien Cormerais, co-founder of Pony, explains that \u201cin our market, we estimate that we can break the \u20ac100 million turnover mark after the 2026 local elections\u201d. The company currently has around 30 employees, enabling it to serve more than 15 partner towns and over 500,000 users in France.<\/p>\n
