Joffe & Associés advised Cykleo, the cycling subsidiary of the Keolis Group, on its acquisition of Ecovelo, a designer of innovative bike-sharing solutions.
Founded in 2007 within the Keolis Group, Cykleo supports local authorities in developing their cycling services by designing, installing and operating reliable, durable solutions suited to all users.
Present in around fifty local authorities, with a fleet of nearly 35,000 bikes and more than 200 employees across the country, this transaction allows Cykleo to establish itself as the leader in cycling services in France.
Founded in 2013, Ecovelo offers local authorities and Mobility Organizing Authorities turnkey electric-assist bike-sharing solutions, from project definition through to commissioning and operations management. As a major player in the mobility market, Ecovelo has stood out for several flagship innovations, such as motorized locks, smart electric chains and electrified charging stations. It has just launched a shared electric longtail bike, which will join Cykleo’s range.
This acquisition represents a new stage in Cykleo’s growth strategy: consolidating its technological expertise and broadening its range in order to support local authorities more effectively.
Driven by the growth of cycling and public authorities’ increasing commitment to active mobility, Cykleo aims to offer a complete range that meets the needs of all local authorities, from the smallest to the largest:
-
-
- bike-sharing;
- long-term bike rental;

For this transaction, the Joffe & Associés team consisted of Virginie Belle, partner, and Alexia Guyot, associate.
