Founded in 2009 by John Carroll, Navi operates more than 600 pharmacies, representing nearly 30% of the Irish market, and generates €700 million in business volume through its platforms.
This strategic partnership represents a major milestone in the development of an interconnected European healthcare ecosystem, combining Hygie31’s pan-European purchasing scale with Navi Group’s commercial footprint and technological expertise.
In an Irish market shaped by the rise of integrated pharmacy chains and the growing influence of pharmaceutical wholesalers, Hygie31 and Navi Group are offering an alternative approach that preserves pharmacists’ independence while strengthening their competitiveness through three key synergies: pan-European purchasing, an enhanced commercial offering, and the sharing of data and technology.
For participating pharmacists, the benefits are clear: better purchasing terms, secure supply, and more time to spend with patients. The partnership also provides Hygie31 with a strong English-speaking platform from which to accelerate its growth in Ireland and explore further English-speaking markets.
With Ireland, Hygie31 now operates across four European markets. Furthermore, following this transaction, Hygie31 now brings together more than 3,542 affiliated pharmacies across Europe, including over 440 operating under the Pharmacie Lafayette banner, with a combined business volume exceeding €6 billion.
